Roto Elite Heritage Latch Deadbolt 2 Deadlatches Auto Locking Multipoint Door Lock
Quick ViewDoor Locks, Multipoint, Multipoint & UPVCRoto Elite Heritage Latch Deadbolt 2 Deadlatches Auto Locking Multipoint Door Lock
0 out of 5(0)This Elite Auto multipoint door lock features 1 Deadbolt, 1 Latch & 2 Autolatches.
Elite automatic multipoint door locks cover a wide range of different applications. They feature a unique trigger which, when activated by closing the door, throws auto deadlatches to eliminate the need to lift the handle when locking the door. They are available in standard and “Heritage” (where the gearbox is higher up the door) configurations.
As these locks engage without the need to lift the lever, as would be necessary on a traditional multipoint lock, they are often fitted to modern timber and composite doors with pull handles where the euro hole is covered by an escutcheon. These locks are made in Europe and feature a “Silbear” coating which offers 480 hours salt spray protection.
Identifying an Elite lock starts with the faceplate, which should be stamped with an Elite logo. The gearboxes feature a slot and a small hole below the slot, just above the top spindle, which is a piercing for bolt through handles.
Automatic locking multipoint locks have the added benefit of always having the locking points engaged at the top and bottom as well as the the middle of the lock when the door is closed. This differs to a traditional multipoint lock, where the user may not always throw the locking points, leaving the door closed only by the central latch. As the door is not held against the frame across its entire length, this can lead to doors becoming bowed or warped over time as they are exposed to the elements. Automatic locking multipoint locks help alleviate this issue as when closed, the door will be automatically held against the frame in the middle, top and bottom of the door. This helps to ensure the door stays straight and true.
If these locks look familiar, that’s because they are. Elite took over the manufacturing of these locks from Roto-Frank when they discontinued the range. They use the same tooling, with the exception of the new Silbear coating, they are made to the same specification as the original locks. You may recognise them from our catalogues as the MVD range or “Roto mark 2” locks. Gearboxes cannot be changed with the original locks but they do offer a relatively simple complete lock swap.
Elite automatic gearboxes are available as a 35mm or 45mm backset, single spindle lock. There is no need for a double spindle version as that feature is not used on an automatic locking gearbox. The same gearbox is used for both standard and heritage versions of the Elite automatic gearbox.
Elite gearboxes measure 200mm high x backset + 19mm. Be sure to account for 2mm for the faceplate when measuring the backset.
Gearbox deadbolts project 20mm and are 32mm high. The latch is 30mm high and projects 10mm. The distance between the bottom of the latch and the top of the deadbolt is 63mm.
Centres are positioned at 62mm and 92mm with the top spindle being 122mm from the bottom of the case. Single spindle locks have a round hole where the second spindle would usually be located. The gearbox is pierced to accept a bolt through fixing 19mm from the top spindle, and the slot above for fixings is 42mm above the spindle.
Elite auto latches feature an activation snib, that when triggered by the door hitting the keep, fire latches to secure the door. The cases for these auto latches measure 145mm high h x 45mm wide.
The same auto latches are used on both the flat and radius faceplate locks. Heritage versions of the Elite automatic lock feature a 3rd auto latch where the main gearbox would be positioned on a standard lock.

Winkhaus Cobra Latch Deadbolt 2 Hooks Multipoint Door Lock – 20mm Faceplate
Quick ViewDoor Locks, Multipoint, Multipoint & UPVCWinkhaus Cobra Latch Deadbolt 2 Hooks Multipoint Door Lock – 20mm Faceplate
0 out of 5(0)This Winkhaus Cobra multipoint door lock features 2 Hooks, 1 Deadbolt & 1 Latch.
The Winkhaus Cobra is the original Winkhaus multipoint lock, featuring a central latch and deadbolt and2 or more “Cobra” hook locking points. Cobra multipoint locks are available with lift lever operation, split spindle or key wind.
Winkhaus Cobra locks are characterised by their central latch and deadbolt. They will also feature either 2 or 4 hooks as the additional locking points. While available as a 4 roller lock, Winkhaus Cobra locks are not normally available as a hook and roller combination lock. That function is left to the Scorpion range.
Cobra locks often feature locking distances of 1490mm between the external hooks. This distance has become very popular in the market, with numerous manufacturers adopting this configuration.
It is also worth noting that Winkhaus Trulocks feature the same gearbox as a Cobra, but with slightly different hooks. Cobra locks are non handed, whereas Trulocks are handed.
The quickest way to identify the product, before removing it from the door, is to check the faceplate. You’ll spot a Winkhaus logo and, often, a Secured by Design logo. The Cobra version will be identified by the central deadbolt and non handed hooks.
Winkhaus Cobra locks are unique as they are available with various different locking features. These include an Entryguard function which is a guard bar that operates in a similar way to a door chain. Its more secure and it can be released from the outside by the key holder if they turn the key an additional 45 degrees.
Another option is a Euro half lockout cylinder double function incorporates two locking cylinders. A central double or thumb turn cylinder plus an additional half cylinder in the FA housing on the external side of the door. When the dwelling is unoccupied both cylinders can be locked with the same key (talk to us about our keying alike service) thus double deadlocking the door. This prevents any intruder who may have entered the property elsewhere, exiting the property by operating the internal thumb turn and unlocking the door (deadlocking the half cylinder on the outside overrides the internal lock operation).
Usefully, all Winkhaus locks feature the same routing details. Therefore, if you wish to change the locking operation, or upgrade to automatic locking, its a straightforward process. New keeps and handles may be required.
All Winkhaus gearboxes, apart from the AV4 measure 185mm high x backset + 15mm, making them the smallest gearboxes on the market. They measure 64mm between the latch and deadbolt and 63mm from the spindle to the top of the gearbox. They also feature a groove above the spindle to aid in the fitment of handles with a screw above the lever.
Winkhaus Cobra locks always feature a latch and deadbolt in the gearbox. They are available in lift lever, split spindle and key wind operation. These are easily identifiable by the sticker on the side of the gearbox. If the writing is blue, This is lift lever, if its green, then the lock is split spindle, whereas red means key wind. We often will only stock the green, split spindle locks, where both a lift lever and split spindle version are available. This is because the split spindle can be used as a lever operated lock by inserting a solid spindle all the way through the follower. There’s also no price difference between the locks, so the added versatility of the split spindle lock makes it a suitable replacement for a larger range of locks.
Winkhaus gearboxes are attached to the faceplate with a set of rivets. These can be easily removed and replaced for gearbox swaps but makes Winkhaus relatively unique (and therefore easier to identify) in the market. Please refer to our guide and video on how to replace a Winkhaus gearbox for full details.
Please note that you may have encountered a really old Winkhaus gearbox that is attached to the faceplate with screws, with a passivated yellow finish. The sticker on the side (red = key wind and blue = lift lever) will denote the operation of the lock. These locks were handed and are no longer available.
Winkhaus Cobra locks feature 25mm throw solid steel Cobra hooks. These high security solid forged steel and nickel plated hooks that fully engage the keep rail and help prevent forcing the sash and frame apart.
Cobra hooks throw downwards, as opposed to Scorpion locks which can throw downwards or bi directional. Cobra hook cases measure 113mm high by 45mm wide.

Millenco Mantis 1 Latch 3 Hooks 2 Deadbolts Double Spindle Multipoint Door Lock
Quick ViewDoor Locks, Multipoint, Multipoint & UPVCMillenco Mantis 1 Latch 3 Hooks 2 Deadbolts Double Spindle Multipoint Door Lock
0 out of 5(0)This Millenco Mantis 1 multipoint door lock features 3 Hooks, 2 Deadbolts & 1 Latch.
The original Mantis 1 lock has a unique gearbox featuring 86/117mm centres. Please note that older versions of this lock do not have any markings on the faceplate. If you are replacing a 24 or 44mm faceplate lock, please use this product and retain the original faceplate.
Millenco Mantis 1 multipoint door locks are the original Millenco locks. They feature unique measurements of 117mm and 86mm centres (PZ) and now form part of the Yale group of companies.
Mantis 1 multipoint locks are available 3 different variants: 3 hooks and 2 deadbolts, 3 hooks and 2 deadbolts with 2 rollers and a 4 roller version. There is also a passive lock version. Historically, Mantis 1 locks have been produced with hooks and deadbolts in different locations. Unfortunately, those locks are no longer available, so some work will be required to reposition keeps and locking positions.
The variant without rollers was often used on timber and composite doors, whereas the version with rollers was used on UPVC doors. You may come across Mantis 1 locks with a cover plate fitted, to match the, often composite, door installation. That cover plate is either 24mm or 44mm wide and locks with this feature are no longer available. However it is possible to re-use this cover plate on your replacement lock. A linkage plate runs behind the cover plate, so it is possible to swap the 16mm faceplate to the older 24mm or 44mm faceplate without much trouble. The linkage will likely be longer than your existing installation, so will need trimming before fitting.
Identifying a Millenco Mantis 1 multipoint door lock is straightforward as it is the only lock on the market with a double spindle, 117mm and 86mm centres. This is the best way to ensure that you have the correct lock as early versions of these locks had no brand stamped on the faceplate.
Millenco Mantis 1 gearboxes are only available in one configuration and backset. The configuration is double spindle for lift lever or double spindle nightlatch operation. The only backset available is 35mm.
Mantis 1 gearboxes are some of the largest on the market, measuring 260mm high by 53mm wide. They feature a central hook bolt that is 45mm high and a latch which measures 23mm high and projects 11mm.
Even though the faceplate can be unscrewed, a Mantis 1 gearbox cannot be swapped with a replacement as it is connected to the linkage rail that runs behind the faceplate. However, repair parts are now available to repair existing gearboxes. Please refer to our multipoint lock gearbox category for details.
Millenco hooks are comprised of a hook that moves upwards and a deadbolt, immediately below it. Hook cases measure 140mm by 48mm and the deadbolts throw 20mm into their keeps.

3. Lock the system by turning the key.
